An attention to style, as well as to the technical values of the “Swiss Made”, are the two main theme from the collection of Baume & Mercier, a brand that has its roots in the first half of the nineteenth century, in the mountains of the Swiss Jura. It was founded in 1830 in Les Bois by the Baume brothers, and moved to Geneva almost a century later, where the association between William Baume and Paul Mercier, gave its name of the company.
Only in 1964 was the logo is created: the Greek letter “phi” that denotes, historically, the research into proportion and its formal perfection in classic art.
Not surprisingly, the brand underwent a period of intense creativity at the time and established a firm hold on the most important world markets, thanks to a wide and varied collection, containing classic and sports models, for men and women.
This ability to capture the favour of a wide audience, passionate about technical details but also very style-conscious, still characterizes the philosophy of Baume & Mercier today, and it is expressed in some brand of the absolutely iconic collections – including Linea, Classima, Hampton – as well as the new Clifton classics.
